The Tiger Temple practices a different conservation philosophy than in the west. The temple opens daily for visitors at about 12pm, and the tigers are walked back to their enclosures at around 4pm. Due to the pressing need for income, the temple now charges 500 Baht admission. Day trips are also available from Bangkok. The temple now receives 300 to 600 visitors a day. There are donations boxes in various locations around the temple for those who wish to support the sanctuary. Tour Itinerary ; River Kwai Kanchanaburi Tiger Temple Day Tour 06:30 AM. Pick-up from various hotels in Bangkok for Kanchanaburi Province. 09:30 AM.Arrive to Kanchanaburi first stop at the World War II cemetery. 10:00 AM. World War II museum & Bridge over the river Kwai to look at surrounding. 11:00 AM.Depart to Lunch at local raft restaurant. 12:00 PM. Meals? Very good meals if it's obviously to our advantage that I can speak enough Thai to make myself understandable. We can recommend a local beer "Beer Lao" tastes great. The weather is something special. We had agreed to good protective motorcycle clothing including (of course) a helmet, gloves and motorcycle boots. The North of Laos is along the border with China in February in the early morning still quite cold. But later in the day, and certainly Luang Prabang and Vang Vien, the temperature rise to about 30 degrees and then you can ride better than standing still. The second part of the motor tour took us to Thailand. So, via Vientiane and the Friendship Bridge back to Thailand, Nong Kai. You cannot avoid it to compare Laos & Thailand. The hotels in Laos in terms of price quality are very expensive. Especially in tourist places like Luang Prabang and Vang Vien. Assuming that compare with Thailand or is there a big difference but in favor of Thailand. The infrastructure of Thailand is much better than in Laos where the roads are sometimes completely gone. A must for lovers of motor cycles is the part near Lomsak and Phetchabun. I think specially made for motorcycle riders. Superlatives and words fall short. I cannot escape the cats to some policeman of Luang Prabang. Our papers were 100% in order but without any reason we had to go to the side of the road and later to the little police desk. The police man did not speak one word of another language and they could not ...
